 Wood is the material of choice for many building structures due to its durability, strength and natural aesthetic appeal. The effects of out-door exposure can degrade these properties resulting in weathering and decomposition. By minimizing the absorption of moisture into wood, such degradation problems can be reduced.
nanoCotz™ Wood is a water-based protective treatment for untreated wood based on nanotechnology. It modifies the surface chemistry on molecular level to provide an ultra-thin, invisible protective layer with hydrophobic characteristics. This hydrophobic product works by repelling water and significantly reduces water absorption especially in porous, absorbent  wood surfaces. The treated wood surface is less susceptible to moisture related damage such as weathering and decomposition.
nanoCotz™ Wood is vapour permeable and allows the treated surface to ‘breathe’ naturally while maintaining the aesthetic appeal of natural wood. nanoCotz™ Wood is UV stable with outstanding penetrating properties that protect most wood furnishings and structures such as outdoor decks, furniture, fences, doors etc.

How does nanoCotz™ Wood work? |

Due to the hydrophobic treatment effect of nanoCotz™ Wood, water cannot penetrate the matrix of the surface which causes the water to form beads rather than spreading out. This significantly reduces water absorption especially in porous, absorbent wood surfaces. The treated wood surface is less susceptible to moisture related damage such as weathering and decomposition. This hydrophobic product is vapour permeable and allows the treated surface to ‘breathe’ naturally while maintaining the aesthetic appeal of natural wood. nanoCotz™ Wood is UV stable with outstanding penetrating properties that protect most natural wood surfaces. |

How to apply nanoCotz™ Wood? |
|
|
|
No special equipment is required to apply nanoCotz™ Wood. Simply follow the instructions below:
1) Before application, timber must be clean, dry and free from
surface coatings such as paint or varnish. New wood must
be sanded and natural surface oil must be removed.
2) Shake well before use. Spray nanoCotz™ Wood onto the
wood surface. Evenly moisten entire area to be treated.
3) Drying should be done at room temperature (at least 2 hours,
or until the material feels dry). The curing process can be
accelerated with a drying apparatus.
4) Full optimal protective effect can be reached after 24 hours.
